The Dayton Board of Education on Tuesday, May 4, took the first step toward eliminating more than 90 positions at the end of the school year under a plan to avoid a $6.3 million deficit in the district’s budget next year.

The seven school board members voted unanimously to cut 70 positions recommended by Superintendent Kurt Stanic. The positions include 10 administrators, 46 teachers and 14 teacher aides, but no principals or assistant principals.

Thirty of those positions will be eliminated through attrition , with 27 from the teaching staff.

Only ninety?

Reason # to homeschool.
