The Power of a Letter

Kimberly Fletcher is the President/Founder of Homemakers for America. I was forwarded the following email which contains a letter that she sent on 31 March 31 to every member of Congress that she had a fax or email for. She writes that "three days after I sent my letter, my husband's promotion went through. Coincidence? Maybe. But never underestimate the power of a letter." I couldn't agree more.
To: Members of Congress

From: Kimberly Fletcher
Air Force Wife

Dear Members of Congress,
I know you are all very busy right now bailing out banks, taking over the auto industry, terrorizing corporate executives, raiding private savings accounts, establishing fair pay, silencing talk radio, regulating religion, nationalizing healthcare and robbing from the rich but I was hoping you could take a moment from your busy schedule to vote to approve my husband’s promotion.

My husband is a member of the United States Air Force serving in Iraq. He was recently promoted but his promotion, as well as all the other military service members promoted, can not go into effect until Congress approves the promotion list. Apparently you have all been so busy advancing change and saving the planet that you totally forgot to approve the list. I completely understand. Socializing America is a labor intensive job definitely worthy of that new raise you voted yourselves.

But, if you could take a moment from your busy schedule restructuring the government and dismantling the Constitution to do something Congress is actually authorized to do I would greatly appreciate it. And so would our children who are doing the best they can to live in the present since their future is already spent.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Fletcher
