Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and former head of that department in Montgomery County, has been placed on paid administrative leave by Gov. Ted Strickland. Strickland said on Friday, Nov. 7, that he took the action "due to the possibility, as yet unconfirmed, that a state computer or state e-mail account was used to assist in political fund raising."
This wouldn't be the first time she has been in any type of trouble. She was sanctioned on 27 January 1997 for "failing to comply with the continuing legal education ('CLE') requirements of Gov. Bar R. X ." At the time she went by the name, Helen Elizabeth Leonhart-Jones. The court order also states that until she complied with the court, "the Clerk of the Court shall record the respondent's status on the roll of attorneys as 'NOT IN GOOD STANDING'."
