The many problems of Barack Hussein Obama

It is patently absurd that someone who sat in the pew of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago listing to the racist and Anti-American rantings of it's pastor for twenty years could claim with a straight face that they had no knowledge of his comments that have been brought to light in recent days. His pastor, and mentor Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. Barack Hussein Obama is quoted as saying "the statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity." For those who believe that to be true, the quote attributed to P.T. Barnum, "There's a sucker born every minute" is more appropriate now than ever.

In reviewing the video and text of Wright's statements, several of his incredible quotes caught my eye. The first of two related comments was when, in a sermon, he took delight in saying not once, but four times: "God damn America." The second was in another sermon where he is heard saying, "God has got to be sick of this sh--." Indeed Reverend. The Third Commandment says that "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." I would certainly hope that at University of Chicago Divinity School and United Theological Seminary that they still include the Third Commandment in their teaching.

The second comment of Wright that I took note of is when he claimed that America "started the AIDS virus." The origin of the AIDS virus has been exhaustively documented. Wright is by all accounts an educated man. Why then does he subscribe to absurd conspiracy theories that would make Oliver Stone blush with envy? In addition, he describes our nation as the "U.S. of KKKA". How very patriotic. I guess he was missing from class when they went over the Ninth Commandment as well which says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor."

I have heard democRAT apologists trying to deflect attention from Wright's words using two different red herrings. The first they use is pointing out that he served in the US Marine Corps. One has nothing to do with the other. Does this mean that service in the nation's military excludes anyone from being held accountable for their actions? Timothy McVeigh and Julius Rosenberg served in the military, and were held accountable for their crimes. The time that Wright served in the military nearly forty years ago has nothing to do with his recent rantings. They also point out the many books he has published. The founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard, wrote dozens of books. Does this mean that everyone should join the Tom Cruise Thetan Army? Hunter S. Thompson wrote a number of books and his devotees include Johnny Depp and John Francois Kerry. The fact that Wright served in the military and wrote a number of books has nothing to do with his racist and Anti-American inflammatory rhetoric.

Wright has no problem with using the incendiary N-word in his sermons. I have yet to hear a legitimate argument why it is acceptable for one racial group to use a particular word and yet another group is forbidden from using the same word. Never once in my life have I addressed another Caucasian-American as a "cracker", or had another Caucasian-American refer to me in that manner. Yet the opposite happens everyday. Yesterday, the Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, endorsed Obama saying that he "rejects the politics of pitting race against race." Yet this is exactly what Obama did when he described his Caucasian-American grandmother who he admits has made racists comments as a "typical white person".

Finally, in casting a vote for an office as important as President of the United States, one critical aspect is the candidates character. I've written previously about the character of Hillary Rodham Clinton and the many cracks in her armor. The association of Barack Hussein Obama with Jeremiah Wright speaks volumes about the state of his character.
