Dayton jobless rate notches up in December

Dayton, along with 75 percent of the metropolitan areas in the country, posted higher unemployment rates in December. The local unemployment rate increased to 6 percent in December 2007 compared with 5.7 percent in December 2006, the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Tuesday. The rate also saw an increase from November's 5.5 percent.
Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin is very disappointed.
