Leahy sets Thursday vote for contempt resolutions against Rove and Bolten
Posted by DarthDilbert at 12/06/2007 12:12:00 AMSenator Patrick "Leaky" Leahy (democRAT - Vermont), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a vote tomorrow on contempt resolutions against White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and Karl Rove for failing to respond to subpoenas. He claimed that the President's claim of executive privilege was "not legally valid."
This from the same person who violated the law twice by disclosing classified information. The first instance was where he disclosed that a telephone conversation of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarakhad been intercepted. The information that he took upon himself to disclose to a non-authorized party revealed was used to capture the Palestine Liberation Front terrorists who had hijacked the Achille Lauro cruise ship in 1985, and murdered an American citizen - Leon Klinghoffer. If that wasn't enough, in 1987 "Leaky" Leahy leaked classified data about an operation in 1986 to overthrow Moammar Gadhafi.
Irony defined. Senator - go Cheney yourself.
