Kwanzaa not catching on

Marcus Cox, founding director of the African-American Studies Program at The Citadel said, "I personally don't know a single person who celebrates the holiday." Still, I don't know why it wouldn't considering the stellar background of it's creator Ron Karenga. This is someone who in 1971 was convicted and imprisoned for assaulting and torturing two young women over a period of two days by forcing them to disrobe, burning them with a hot soldering iron, beating them with a karate baton, whipping them with an electrical cord, placing their toes in a vise, forcing them to eat caustic detergent and placing a running hose in their mouths. With all these attributes, why doesn't this guy have a national holiday?
