Where were you?

Where were you when you heard or saw the news of the first attacks on 9/11? I was on my way home from work maybe five minutes from my home when at approximately 8:50 I heard the initial report on WHIO-AM 1290. They were carrying a NY station which reported that a small plane had crashed into one of the towers. My wife is originally from New York City, and I called her with the news. I got home a few minutes after and immediately went into our living room where my wife was watching FoxNews and was shocked at what I saw. I knew that this was no small Cessna which had collided into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. We then switched the channel to CNN, then to MSNBC and back to FoxNews to hear when they each were saying. I calmly said to her that this was no accident as some of the news anchors were speculating. I added that this wasn't going to be an isolated incident. I couldn't explain it, but I knew that more attacks were going to be made. How I wish I was wrong.

I sat in my chair silently watching the news when things went into slow motion. It was 9:03am. I saw United Airlines Flight 175 crash into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. If anyone still held any doubts if this was an accident, they were quickly dissuaded. My wife quickly called her parents in Minnesota, and her sister in Florida, asking them to turn on the news. I remained in the room for hours transfixed as I watched the horror unfold - angry and frustrated that I could do nothing as thousands of Americans were murdered by Islamofascists.
