New Indoctrination Czar for Dayton Government Schools promises "no excuses" leadership

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/24/2010 03:16:00 PM

Dayton Public Schools’ next superintendent, Lori L. Ward [registered democRAT since 5 October 1992], promised to continue and extend the district’s academic improvement that started under outgoing Superintendent Kurt Stanic.

"We will move the district forward to become the district of choice for this community," Ward said today, March 24, accepting the position of superintendent at the Dayton Board of Education Administration Building. Ward starts July 1 in her new role.

Ward, 52, is the district’s current No. 2 in command. She will replace Stanic, whose contract expires at the end of the school year.

Ward promised a "no excuses" style of district leadership and said she will hold staff to the highest expectations.

If "no excuses" is the new rule, what will happen to the indoctrinators when the next round of failing report cards is released for the district?

Jim Jordan and Seth Morgan to address Kettering Liberty Group

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/24/2010 03:14:00 PM

Press Release --

Kettering, OH, March 22 -- U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan and Ohio Representative Seth Morgan will address the monthly meeting of the Kettering Liberty Group on April 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Van Buren Middle School auditorium (3775 Shroyer Road).

Congressman Jordan represents Ohio’s 4th congressional district (North and West Central Ohio) and will address "Getting Control of the Federal Budget". Representative Morgan (Ohio 36th district in Northern Montgomery County) will talk about "Open Government in Ohio".

According to Kettering Liberty Group coordinator Eric Weber, each speaker will talk for 10 minutes and take questions from the audience for 10-15 minutes. "This informal format has worked very well with past speakers and we’ve had very informative meetings," he said.

"We welcome public attendance," Mr. Weber added, "And we’re particularly interested in having high school and college students attend. It’s a great opportunity for them to get involved in the process that is creating the kind of society in which they will be spending their lives."

The Kettering Liberty Group is one of 19 other local liberty groups affiliated with the Dayton Tea Party movement, which began in early 2009, as a means for citizens to promote free markets, fiscal responsibility, limited government, and respect for the Constitution.

The primary mission of the Kettering Liberty Group is educational, with a focus on promoting greater citizen awareness and participation in the political process. Current instructional efforts include a 12-week study course on the U.S. Constitution. To familiarize citizens with the federal legislative process, a team of members (www.wethepeopleundergod.com) conduct monthly bus trips to Washington, D.C., to meet with elected officials.

KLG members also attend local city government and school board meetings and are involved in the statewide ballot initiative to eliminate the Ohio Estate Tax (www.endohioestatetax.com).

Speakers at past meetings of the Kettering Liberty Group have included State Senator Jon Husted, Michael Maurer of the Ohio Citizens' Accounting Standards Board, and Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith.

Mother furious after in-school clinic at Seattle government school sets up teen's abortion

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/24/2010 03:13:00 PM

The mother of a Ballard High School student is fuming after the health center on campus helped facilitate her daughter's abortion during school hours.

The mother, whom KOMO News has chosen to identify only as "Jill," says the clinic kept the information "confidential."

When she signed a consent form, Jill figured it meant her 15 year old could go to the Ballard Teen Health Center located inside the high school for an earache, a sports physical, even birth control, but not for help terminating a pregnancy.

"She took a pregnancy test at school at the teen health center," she said. "Nowhere in this paperwork does it mention abortion or facilitating abortion."

Jill says her daughter, a pro-life advocate, was given a pass, put in a taxi and sent off to have an abortion during school hours all without her family knowing.

"We had no idea this was being facilitated on campus," said Jill. "They just told her that if she concealed it from her family, that it would be free of charge and no financial responsibility."

The Seattle School District says it doesn't run the health clinics at high schools. Swedish Medical Center runs the clinic at Ballard High and protects the students' privacy.

T.J. Cosgrove of the King County Health Department, which administers the school-based programs for the health department, says it's always best if parents are involved in their children's health care, but don't always have a say.

"At any age in the state of Washington, an individual can consent to a termination of pregnancy," he said.

But Jill says she not only didn't have a say in her daughter's abortion, but also didn't know about it.

"Makes me feel like my rights were completely stripped away."

democRAT government school bus driver arrested after burning her daughter with a spoon

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/24/2010 03:12:00 PM

Special Victims Unit detectives arrested a 33-year-old mother and Dayton Public Schools bus driver on a child endangering charge related to the burning of her 4-year-old daughter with a spoon.

Kristal Hill [a registered democRAT since 13 April 1995] is in the Montgomery County Jail and has yet to appear in court on the felony charge, according to jail records. Officers responded to Dayton Children's Medical Center on Saturday, March 20, about 11 p.m. after being notified of the girl's injuries by hospital staff, according to a police report.

Hill initially was taken to a local hospital after complaining of some sort of seizure during the investigation, police said. After being medically cleared she was taken to jail and booked in about 11 a.m. Monday, according to jail records.

Her employment status with Dayton Public Schools is unknown at this time.

Children's Services was expected to follow up with the family and determine the necessary course of action, police said. The child was placed her father, officials said.

How long will Dayton Government Schools continue to employ Hill?

75th Ranger Regiment graduates 56 new Rangers

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/18/2010 12:20:00 AM

Press release:

FORT BENNING, Ga. (USASOC News Service, March 16, 2010) - The 75th Ranger Regiment's Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 1 conducted a graduation ceremony at Freedom Hall, March 5.

On Jan. 11, Class 03-10 started with 155 Soldiers. The grueling and demanding nature of the eight-week assessment and selection course gradually reduced the graduating class to 56 Rangers.

More than 200 Family and friends watched proudly as their sons, grandsons, nephews and husbands donned the tan beret that signifies the brotherhood of the 75th Ranger Regiment.

"You have proven you are worthy of wearing that 75th Ranger Regiment scroll," said RASP 1 graduation speaker, retired Col. Ralph Puckett, former Honorary Colonel of the 75th Ranger Regiment. "When you do, you will be proclaiming to all who see you that you are one of the best Soldiers in the world."

The Regiment's initial training and selection program has recently undergone a complete overhaul which aims to ensure graduates are ready for the complex and demanding environment of the constantly evolving special operations battlefield.

"The Ranger Regiment has always prided itself on the quality of Soldier it produces and RASP 1 enhances our capabilities," said Sgt. 1st Class Tyson Crosby, non-commissioned officer in charge of the RASP 1 program. "RASP 1 is not only designed to teach Soldiers the skills required to become a member of the Regiment, but also to ensure they are physically and mentally prepared to be successful."

The RASP 1 course is designed to ensure candidates meet the demanding standards for service within the75th Ranger Regiment, as well as arm its graduates with the skills required to be successful in the demanding and high-tempo lifestyle of the Regiment.

"You are a trained and certified Ranger, ready to deploy to combat in a fire team. You don't have to take a backseat to any Ranger who has gone before you," said Puckett. "You have met and exceeded standards that previous graduates met. You are a Ranger who has earned the right, the honor and the responsibility of calling yourself a U.S. Army Ranger."

Spc. Andrew Reid, a native of Norwich, New York, joined the Army after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in history from The College of Brockport State University of New York. He is also the recipient of the Class Leader Award and has dreamt about being a U.S. Army Ranger since he was a little boy.

"To be part of this Regiment is truly an honor," said Reid. "I feel privileged. This is something I chose, I think it's every man's responsibility to fight for his country. This is what I want and I'm honored. This is a dream come true."

Reid's Ranger buddy, Pfc. Schuyller Nagorski, a combat medic and the class honor graduate agrees.

"I feel privileged to be here and to be a part of this unit," said Nagorski.

Nagorski, a native of Tacoma, Wash., and graduate of Franklin Pierce High School, said he joined the Army because he wanted the character and discipline of his parents, who are both retired E-7s and the teamwork of being a U.S. Army Ranger.

"You can't succeed without your Ranger Buddy to your left and to your right," said Nagorski. "I want to make sure that if my men go down, hopefully they never will, but they have confidence in me and my skills as a combat medic, that I will be there and I will not give up on them."

"We, the Rangers of yesterday, are depending on you, the Rangers of today and tomorrow, to protect our freedom so that our grandchildren may enjoy the benefits that we have had," concluded Puckett. "Rangers lead the way!"

Yes, Martin Gottlieb, the American people are really against Obamacare

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/18/2010 12:17:00 AM

Not only are the American people opposed to Obamacare, but American taxpayers are as well. Seeing as how little things like facts are alien to you and your fellow Komrades at the DDN, allow me to educate you.

A poll conducted by the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest Advance (CMPI-A) found that:

• Six in ten Americans (60%) agree that a current democRAT proposal to send the Senate health care bill to the president without voting up or down on it is "unfair."

• Most Americans oppose (81%) health care reforms that would increase insurance premiums for healthy people to offset premiums of people who wait until they are diagnosed with an illness to purchase insurance.

• Eight Americans in ten (81%) oppose allowing the government to decide what kind of health care coverage Americans are able to purchase.

• Most Americans (87%) oppose having a government panel recommend or decide what medical procedures or medical advances your doctor or health plan can or cannot use.

• More than eight Americans in ten (84%) support reforms that would allow people to buy health insurance where it is the least expensive, such as across state lines.

• Three in four Americans (76%) oppose health care reforms that would raise taxes and cut Medicare benefits to pay for health care subsidies for expanded coverage for those currently insured.

• Eight Americans in ten (78%) support health care reforms that would let people buy less costly health plans and save and invest for health care needs in the future on a tax-free basis.

• Half of Americans (51%) oppose health care reforms that would let people lock-in premiums by paying more for their insurance.

• Most Americans (85%) support health care reforms that would let people get lower premiums for getting or staying healthy.

• Eight Americans in ten (82%) support the idea that more money should be invested in the development of cures for the most devastating diseases.

Still not convinced Marty? How do you explain the multitudes of patriots who went to DC on 12 September 2009? What about the 8,000 patriots who assembled at Courthouse Square in Dayton on 15 April 2009? What about the 5,000 patriots who attended the rally at Golden Gate Park in Brookville on 3 July 2009? Among the many things they were opposed to was, and is, Obamacare.

From 27-28 June 2009 until 13-14 March 2010, Rasmussen Reports have conducted thirty-nine polls asking Americans about the health care plan proposed by Obambi and congressional democRATs. In their latest poll 53% of those polled oppose Obamacare while only 43% were in favor of it. If you extrapolate the numbers to the US population this means that approximately 163,710,000 Americans oppose Obamacare.

Yesterday, enough people called in to Congress to voice their opposition to Obamacare that it overloaded their phone system and their email servers suffered a "very significant spike" in traffic.

Marty, I'll give you a pass. It's ok that you didn't know. Maybe Algore's interweb will find it's way over to Sunray Road in Kettering sometime in the near future. Because, you know, "everybody says it" will someday.

Ohioans deserve fair elections

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/16/2010 04:18:00 PM

(Reformatted from an email:)

As Americans we can all certainly agree that the integrity of our electoral process needs to be protected if we are to maintain any faith in our government. The recent disqualifications of five primary candidates by Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner has eyebrows raising all over Ohio. Steve Christopher, a challenger to Mike Dewine who was running unopposed after Dave Yost drop dropped out of the race to run for State Auditor, was disqualified, as was Traci Johnson, a democrat running for Senate against Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner. She submitted 1858 signatures and only 834 were declared valid.

The Christopher campaign delivered petitions with 2750 signatures to the Ohio Secretary of State who claims that only 788 signatures were received and only 638 were found to be valid, A receipt was issued by the SOS office for 2750 signatures so the unanswered question remains as to what happened to the approximately 2000 signatures as SOS insists her office only received 788. Since 1000 valid signatures are needed to be placed on the ballot, Christopher will not be on the ballot. Secretary Brunner claims to have never received petitions from some of the counties where large numbers of signatures were obtained.

Concerns by both of these candidates appear to be valid. The Christopher campaign has decided to challenge the Secretary of State's disqualification and has hired David Langdon, an attorney from Cincinnati, to proceed with court action to secure his rightful position on the May Republican primary ballot. Due to the restrictive time restraints regarding election laws, it was necessary for Langdon to file a complaint for writ of mandamus with the Ohio Supreme Court on Christopher's behalf.

Please help by calling Ohio State Senators and House Representatives
In addition to the Ohio Supreme Court hearing the case, Senator Grendell has called for an investigation into the action of the Office of the Secretary of State and has asked the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House to support fair and ethical election practices by adding their voice to the demand for a full investigation. As an Ohio voter, if you want to be assured that fair and ethical election practices are being upheld, then please join in the "PHONE BLITZ" to all representatives in the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House in Columbus to demand they join in the call to demand an investigation. This is a bi-partisan concern that affects us all, and regardless of political party or personal viewpoint, we must demand that fair elections are safe guarded in Ohio.

You are encouraged to contact both the Ohio Senators and the Ohio House members and ask them to join Senator Grendell in calling for an investigation into the Secretary of State's handling of these petitions. Ohioans need to be able to count on fair election standards and practices from the office that oversees Ohio elections.

Call the State Senators & House members and consider telling them the following:
• that you agree with Senator Grendell's call for an investigation and you want them to join with Senator Grendell to find out what happened to the missing signatures so this cannot happen again in the future
• that as an Ohio voter you want to be assured that fair and ethical election practices are being upheld
• that regardless of political party or personal viewpoint, fair elections must be safe guarded.
• that this is a bi-partisan concern that affects us all
• that Ohioans deserve to have their voices be heard at Ohio ballot boxes without fear of the process being subverted.
• that we are making no accusations... we are simply seeking the truth in this matter
From the Akron Beacon Journal - 3/13/2010 (http://www.ohio.com/news/87595042.html)

"At the same time that the Brunner-Christopher battle was heating up Friday, state Sen. Timothy Grendell, R-Chesterland, got into the fray. With no odor being too obscure for his olfactory senses, Grendell has never missed the whiff of a scandal in his legislative career.

He fired off a letter to Brunner raising a series of quasi-logical questions, including, "Why did your office bother asking local boards of elections to verify those 788 signatures when they were clearly short of the 1,000 needed to put Mr. Christopher on the ballot?"

Responding to Langdon, Rankin answered Grendell. "In an abundance of caution and so as not to cause any petitions to be withheld from board review, staff sent all petitions to the boards of elections, regardless of the number of signatures initially filed," Rankin wrote."

Additional Information

Press Release From Conservatives for Steve Christopher - 3/12/2010:

As of today, March 12, 2010, Steve Christopher has given his attorney, David Langdon of Cincinnati, photocopies of all of the petitions that were filed with Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner's office on February 18. Langdon attempted to work with the Secretary of State's office in an effort to find a resolution to the lost or misplaced petitions. It was Christopher's intent to have these petitions sent to the proper county Boards of Elections so that the signatures on the petitions could be properly validated.

A fair and equitable agreement could not be reached with the Secretary of State's Office. Steve Christopher has authorized Langdon to proceed with court action to secure his rightful position on the May Republican primary ballot. Due to the extremely restrictive time restraints regarding election laws, Christopher has no further time to wait for a resolution. Langdon has filed a complaint for writ of mandamus with the Ohio Supreme Court on Christopher's behalf.

At this time we have several pieces of evidence that we are able to release to the press upon request. If a copy of these documents is requested, please use the email address shown below for the request. We have an Excel spreadsheet documenting the candidate's submitted quantity of petitions that was created by the Secretary of State's office and distributed by that office to the 88 Ohio county Board of Elections offices. We also have an Excel spreadsheet that contains a breakdown by county of the copied petitions that the campaign has in its possession. This document illustrates the number of petitions collected and the counties in which they were obtained. If anyone would like to see the actual petitions filed by Christopher with the Secretary of State's office, these are available for viewing at www.SteveChristopher.org.

Press release from the Ohio Liberty Council -- 3/11/2010:

The Ohio Liberty Council Calls for Transparency in Disqualification of Primary Candidates

The Ohio Liberty Council (OLC) is calling for transparency from the Ohio Secretary of State in the disqualification of five candidates from the 2010 primary ballot. Numerous irregularities have been noted and the OLC is demanding a full accounting of the ballot review process from receipt to validation to decision. In addition to two Attorney General candidates, three Candidates for U.S. Senate, Ms. Brunner's opponents, were disqualified by the Secretary of State.

Candidates Steve Christopher for Attorney General and Tracy Johnson for US Senate have called on the Secretary's office to conduct an internal investigation into the handling of their petitions. The OLC believes the Secretary of State has an obligation to assure the citizens of Ohio a transparent and ethical process of signature validation, and the political parties have an obligation to assure the process is completed ethically. The OLC is appalled by the silence and apparent indifference with which both major parties — Democrat and Republican — have responded to the disqualification of these candidates.

The OLC calls upon both parties and the Secretary of State to uphold the right of Ohioans to choose their candidates and to participate freely in the election process without fear of subversion. Lack of transparency and/or ethics violations in a primary or general election cycle damage the constitutional right of citizens to select their representatives in government.

Senator Grendell has called for an investigation into the action of the Office of the Secretary of State and has asked the Ohio House and the Ohio Senate to support fair and ethical election practices by adding their voice to the demand for a full investigation. The OLC is in full support of this measure.

President of the Ohio Liberty Council, Chris Littleton, was quoted, "Our organization believes in the importance of transparency in the electoral process. While we are making no accusations in this scenario, when multiple candidates express concern with the process - it's clear a thorough investigation should be launched. We are simply seeking truth in this matter."

"Lost Heroes Art Quilt" at Airborne & Special Operations Museum

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/16/2010 12:07:00 PM

Press release --

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Honoring America’s fallen heroes in Iraq and Afghanistan, "The Lost Heroes Art Quilt" continues its national tour at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, March 13-20.

Artist Julie Feingold created the 5.5-foot by 15-foot Quilt as a non-political contemporary work of art. It includes 82 heroes reflecting the diversity of America – 50 in the center of the Quilt representing each state in the U.S. and 32 around the border. A photograph and poignant words describing each hero’s unique personality, interests, dreams and hopes appear around each hero’s square on the Quilt, permanently memorializing each life.

The Quilt includes nine fallen heroes with roots in North Carolina:
* Army Captain Christopher S. Cash represents North Carolina in the center of the Quilt
* Army Captain Jeremy Alan Chandler was a member of the 1st Bn, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne)
* Army Private First Class Robert H. Dembowski Jr. served with the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, NC
* Army Staff Sergeant Justin M. Estes served with the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, NC
* Marine Lance Corporal Daniel McVicker was stationed in North Carolina
* Army Captain Christopher P. Petty was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina
* Army Specialist Michael Rodriguez was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina
* Army Private Bryan Nicholas Spry served with the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, NC
* Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Keith Yoakum flew for the U.S. Army Parachute Team, The Golden Knights, out of Ft. Bragg, NC

"The 'Lost Heroes Art Quilt' honors and remembers those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country," said Ms. Feingold. "By recognizing their
character, I hope to inspire others to find their own path toward community service and active citizenship. If you take just one name with you and remember it, our heroes will not be forgotten – the actions of a single person can make a powerful difference."

The Quilt was dedicated at the Families United Gold Star Family Dinner in Washington, DC, last fall and included in the keystone "Time of Remembrance" event at the U.S. Capitol, sponsored by the White House Commission on Remembrance. The Quilt began its national exhibition tour at the Arlington National Cemetery Visitors Center.

Dating protection bill approved by Ohio Senate

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/11/2010 05:38:00 PM

Ohio Senators have unanimously passed a House bill that would allow juvenile courts to issue protection orders for minors in dating relationships.

The Ohio House of Representatives is expected to concur Wednesday. The legislation would then go to Gov. Ted Strickland, who is expected to sign it.

The bill was inspired in part by the plight of Cleveland teen Johanna Orozco, who was shot in the face by her 17-year-old ex-boyfriend in 2007 has had numerous operations. Orozco wanted to get a protection order, but Ohio juvenile courts cannot issue them against minors.

An advocacy group said in a national survey last year that only a handful of states have laws enabling minors the same protection order rights as adults.

I'm saddened that this type of legislation is necessary today. If it were my daughter, I wouldn't call the police to deal with a piece of trash like Juan Ruiz, I would contact the coroner, and not lose a moment of sleep.

Does anyone in government bother to actually read the Constitution?

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/11/2010 05:37:00 PM

This week I along with millions of other American's received a letter from Robert M. Groves, Director of the United States Census Bureau, which is the first in a set of two mailings. In the letter Groves, who once suggested that the Census Bureau estimate the population rather than an "actual Enumeration" as the Constitution dictates, writes that the census will be used to "help each community get its fair share of government funds for highways, schools, health facilities, and many other programs you and your neighbors need." I'm interested to learn what these government entitlement programs are that he believes we "need". He notes that "Without a complete, accurate census, your community may not receive its fair share." Did anyone miss how he referenced our "fair share"? I'm sorry, I was always under the impression that the purpose of the census was to conduct an "actual Enumeration" of the people to determine the representation of the people in the House of Representatives.

I wonder if in a previous draft of the letter he referred to the $85 Million spent on these mailings as an astonishing waste of taxpayers funds rather than describing them as "cost effective". I'd love to learn exactly how much money was wasted to translate and distribute them in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Russian? The money wasted on these two mailings alone easily argue the point in making English the official language of the United States.

The unending and nauseating Oprahization of America sadly continues with this woman as it's chief cheerleader.

In any event, I do know how I will answer one question on the census though.

Catholic priest apologizes for joking that marriage is not for "Adam and Steve"

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/11/2010 05:34:00 PM

A Catholic priest has apologized for joking during a sermon that true marriage can only be between Adam and Eve - not "Adam and Steve". Reverend Frank Wainwright, 48, a Deacon at St Gregory's Church in Cheltenham, Glos., made the controversial comment during a Sunday service. He was preaching on the theme of marriage when he claimed that same-sex civil partnerships are not considered as marriage by the Catholic church.

But his "flippant joke" sparked five complaints from his congregation and has been branded as homophobic by gay and lesbian rights groups. Rev Frank Wainwright, who lives in Cheltenham, Glos., apologized for causing any offense and claimed he is not "homophobic".

The Lavender Mafia strikes again.

Will you come help make a difference tonight?

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/09/2010 01:07:00 PM

From an email:
Recently, one of our local political leaders, conservative Seth Morgan, declared his candidacy for the office of Ohio State Auditor. This was great news for conservatives, because another fine man, Dave Yost, was also running for a state-wide position, Ohio Attorney General. However, neither of these two men counted on the fact that former US Senator Mike Dewine wanted to run or the Attorney General position as well, meaning that he'd have to beat Mr. Yost for the nomination. We don't have all the details, but something very strange has happened. Mr. Yost was persuaded (pressured?), although he is an attorney by profession, and better suited to run for a legal position, to switch races. You guessed it--- he's now running against Seth Morgan, who's a CPA, for the State Auditor spot. This leaves Dewine unopposed in the primary. Oh, I left out one little detail. The head of the Ohio Republican Party, the man who carried out this ridiculous scheme, is none other than Mike Dewine's cousin, Kevin Dewine!

Now, instead of two conservatives runnning in separate races, we have them pitted against each other for the same position, just so Mike Dewine can have a smooth pathway to his political rebirth. If you feel this is a sorry, sleazy backroom deal here in our very own state, you'd be correct.

What can you do about it? Well, until recently, there wasn't much you could do, but that's changed. Disgusted with this backroom dealing, another conservative, Steve Christopher of Hardin County, has decided to run against Dewine for the Republican nomination to run for Ohio Attorney General. Christopher shares your values, and feels that Ohioans deserve a conservative choice for this position, other than retread former Senator Mike Dewine. It's an uphill climb, but it's definitely worth the effort, you'll agree.

Here's where you come in. I need your help immediately!!

Christopher needs 1000 signatures by Tuesday, and I'm collecting as many as I can get tomorrow night (Sunday). There's no time to go door to door to gather the needed signatures, so we're having a little petition party Sunday night!

Please meet me at the Starbucks on Rt. 48 (near Kroger and Elder Beerman, etc.) to sign the nominating petition. It'll take you just a minute, but it's really important. I'll be there from 7:30 - 9:00PM Sunday night.

This is your chance to send a message to the power brokers that we don't like their manipulative deals! If you'd like to learn more about Mr. Christopher, here's a link that will help you get more information about this patriot, including a video of him speaking about the Constitution. This is all happening so very quickly--- his website isn't up yet, but will be shortly. At this point, our main objective is to meet a filing deadline to get Steve Christopher on the primary ballot in March.

Will you please take a moment to join me at Starbucks to sign the petition? Our fellow Ohioans are counting on us!!

I'm looking forward to seeing you tonight!

I'll be there to sign, will you?

Update: 9 March 2010 / 1:07PM
After reading this article and several others similar to this I called the Secretary of States office this morning who referred me to the Montgomery County Board of Elections. There I spoke with Betty Smith who said that neither my signature nor that of my wife was ruled as valid on the petition. When I asked how many signatures were ruled valid for Montgomery County she answered that they had received four signatures, and only three of them were valid.

I urge everyone who signed a petition for Steve Christopher to contact their board of elections to find out if their signature was ruled valid or invalid and then forward that information to info@stevechristopher.org

Thanks.

Seth Morgan, CPA supports grassroots campaign to end Ohio's death tax

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/08/2010 02:54:00 PM

Press release --
Auditor of State candidate Seth Morgan, CPA announces his support today of Citizens United to End Ohio's Estate Tax.

"I applaud this grassroots campaign to end Ohio's Death Tax and urge all Ohioans to join me in supporting this effort to begin the process of returning Ohio back to economic prosperity," said Seth Morgan, CPA.

"Working families in Ohio have already paid considerable taxes on any money saved during their lifetime, and taxing their hard earned money again at death is unfair, arbitrary and bad for job creation. Additionally, Ohioans are at an added disadvantage because Ohio is one of only a handful of states that levies a death tax at the state level," Morgan said.

Citizens United to End Ohio's Estate Tax is a grassroots statutory initiative campaign to end the harmful death tax effective Dec. 31, 2012. The campaign is being supported by fiscal and social conservatives, tea party activists, business and industry groups from across Ohio. For more information, visit endohioestatetax.com.

Seth Morgan, CPA was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2008 after serving seven years on the Huber Heights City Council. He is a Small Business Owner and Certified Public Accountant. For more information about Seth Morgan visit www.SethMorgan.org

Top homeschool texts dismiss Darwin and evolution

Posted by DarthDilbert at 3/07/2010 09:43:00 PM

Christian-based materials dominate a growing home-school education market that encompasses more than 1.5 million students in the U.S. And for most home-school parents, a Bible-based version of the Earth's creation is exactly what they want. Federal statistics from 2007 show 83 percent of home-schooling parents want to give their children "religious or moral instruction."

"The majority of homeschoolers self-identify as evangelical Christians," said Ian Slatter, a spokesman for the Home School Legal Defense Association. "Most homeschoolers will definitely have a sort of creationist component to their homeschool program."

Barack Obama is still struggling to kick smoking, according to his first medical examination since becoming president. The doctors also recommended "moderation of alcohol intake".

I can only hope that we don't have a sequel to Chappaquiddick.
