Dayton Government Schools collect less than half of projected levy funds

Posted by DarthDilbert at 12/30/2009 05:56:00 PM

County auditor records show that Dayton Government Schools took in $77 million in property taxes this year, but they are depressed they didn't take in an estimated $9.3 million having only collected less than $4 million. Awwww how sad. Does this mean they will have to fire scores of inept government school indoctrinators? We can only hope.

Merry CHRISTmas

Posted by DarthDilbert at 12/25/2009 12:51:00 AM

For my democRAT friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2006, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. And without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee. By accepting these greetings you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for herself or himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

For my Republican friends:
Here's wishing all of you a Merry CHRISTmas and a very Happy New Year!
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, "Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us."And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them." -- Luke 2:1-20 (NIV)

The hypocrisy of the left

Posted by DarthDilbert at 12/23/2009 09:53:00 PM

Senator Harry Reid has his panties in a twist because Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele described the democRATs actions with the Senate health care bill as "flipping a bird to the American people." Reid described the comment by Steele as "obscene". Apparently he is as obtuse as he is myopic seeing as how his president, Barack Hussein Obama has a habit of flipping people off during speeches.

Indiana government school removes "Allah" from holiday show after protests

Posted by DarthDilbert at 12/15/2009 03:31:00 PM

A Hamilton Southeastern elementary removed a mention of Allah in its holiday show after it drew the anger of a national conservative Christian group.

Lantern Road Elementary Principal Danielle Thompson said school leaders sought to teach inclusiveness through the second-grade program, which included pieces about Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa.

"It went off last night without a hitch," Thompson said. "Several families thought it was a nice program."

School officials removed a phrase saying "Allah is God" after the American Family Association launched a protest of the program on its electronic newsletter.

Massachusetts Second-grader sent home from government school for crucifix drawing

Posted by DarthDilbert at 12/15/2009 03:30:00 PM

An 8-year-old boy was sent home from school and ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation after he was asked to make a Christmas drawing and came up with what appeared to be a stick figure of Jesus on a cross, the child's father said Tuesday.

Chester Johnson told WBZ-TV that his son made the drawing on Dec. 2 after his second-grade teacher asked children to sketch something that reminded them of the holiday.

Here is the image that offended the government school indoctrinators:

Miami Valley government schools seeking one-year delay on all-day kindergarten

Posted by DarthDilbert at 12/14/2009 11:46:00 AM

The cost — about $205 million statewide — would fall to local school districts, not the state, Baker noted. That's why Springboro and most of the 206 school districts around the state that don’t have all-day kindergarten will seek a one-year waiver, delaying the mandate until the fall of 2011, according to a survey conducted by the Ohio Department of Education.

An analysis of the chart provided by DDN shows a wide range of costs. When you compare districts with a similar number of students the difference in costs between the two districts is hard to explain.

Valley View has 124 kindergarten students at a total cost of $303,050 for an average of $2,443.95 per student while the People's Republic of Oakwood has 123 (that's one less for the math-impaired) students at a total cost of $632,886 for an average of $5,145.41. This is a difference of $2,701.46 per student, and yet these government school indoctrinators still complain they don't have enough money.

"Obama is our enemy," say Israeli lawmakers

Posted by DarthDilbert at 12/02/2009 11:16:00 AM

A group of lawmakers and rank-and-file members from Israel's ruling Likud Party met on Saturday to publicly blast US President Barack Obama as an enemy of Israel and the Jews over his heavy-handed pressure to stop building homes for Jews in areas claimed by the Palestinian Arabs.

Organized by Likud MK Dani Danon, the meeting was a follow-up to remarks made last week by Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat, in which she called the Obama administration "terrible" for Israel.

Danon also laid into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for having implemented a partial settlement freeze in line with international demands, but noted that Livnat had correctly identified Obama as the main antagonist.

Yossi Naim, a regional council leader, summed up the feelings of those at the gathering: "The Obama administration is an enemy of the Jews and the worst regime there ever was for the State of Israel."

Ron Nachman, mayor of the settler town of Ariel, concluded by announcing that he, for one, would not be complying with the government's decision to implement a 10-month freeze on all new building projects in the disputed territories.
