Rangers recognized for combat actions

Around 350 Rangers from 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment were recognized on 3 November for their combat service during a recent deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan. There were 68 combat awards including two Bronze Star medals for valor, 10 Joint Service Commendation medals for valor, seven Purple Heart medals, 44 Bronze Star medals for service and five Air Medals. Family members accompanied each Ranger company leadership team and presented Joint Service Commendation and Achievement medals, Army Commendation medals, Army Achievement medals, Combat Infantryman badges, Combat Field Medic badges and Combat Action badges. Wrapping up the ceremony, fifty Ranger wives received recognition for being on the front lines in providing information and support to Ranger families during the many deployments of 1st Battalion.
